Abstract

The third volume of the series “History of emotions” entitled “From the end of the 19th century to the present day” is a project that touches the vein of our time. Published in Brazil by Editora Vozes, the volume intends to investigate how, in opposition to modernity, emotions have become central to the way individuals understand themselves and how the social began to pulse according to the logic of the sensible. The book has twenty-six chapters that, despite the plurality of theoretical and methodological affiliations of each author, seeks to apprehend emotions where they are supposed to have no history. Undoubtedly, it is a rich book for the area of Communication, whether for its elucidation of investigative paths, or for its proposal of conceptual tools.
